Making Rice in the Oven in Advance and Freezing

Making Ahead: Let the rice cool completely to room temperature. Then transfer it to an airtight container. Store it in the fridge for 3-5 days. Be sure to place it in the fridge within 2 hours of cooking.

Freezing: You can freeze rice, but the rice should be cooled quickly before you put it in the freezer. Place the rice in a freezer proof container. Cool the container by placing it in cold water. Store it in the freezer within 1 hour of cooking. Rice can be frozen for up to 6 months.

Reheat: For every cup of rice, you’ll need to add 2 tbsp of water when reheating. You can reheat the rice in the stove top or in the oven for 5 minutes. You can also microwave rice by placing it in a microwave safe bowl. Cover it and heat it on high for about 1 minute per cup if thawed. Heat it on high for 2 minutes per cup if frozen. Do not reheat the rice more than once. When you reheat the rice, make sure it is heated all the way through.
